Question 1

Is this just an AI-generated template?

Accepted Answer

No. AI helps accelerate the work, but your site is built around your business. Every build is guided by 10+ years of professional software engineering and reviewed by hand. No off-the-shelf template bloat.

Question 2

How quickly can you launch my website?

Accepted Answer

A Starter Site is usually live within a week of your content being ready. A Bespoke Business Site typically takes two to three weeks, including review on a private staging link, and an online shop usually three to six weeks. You'll get a clear timeline before any work begins.

Question 3

Can I update the website myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I can add a lightweight, secure admin area so you can update text, images, opening hours and posts yourself, with no WordPress and no plugins to maintain. Prefer not to? Managed Website includes monthly content updates: 30 minutes on Essential, 1 hour on Plus or 2 hours on Growth.

Question 4

Can you help with my content and copy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every package includes guidance on structure and messaging, and the Bespoke Business Site includes full copy assistance. I'll help shape your words so visitors quickly understand what you do and what to do next.

Question 5

Can you work with my existing WordPress site?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I usually recommend a custom build for speed and security, but if WordPress is the right fit I'll keep your site lean, secure and up to date, or plan a smooth move to a custom build when you're ready.

Question 6

What happens after launch?

Accepted Answer

You own your website and domain. Managed Website covers global edge hosting, SSL, backups and monthly content updates: Essential is £49/mo, Plus £89/mo and Growth from £169/mo (WordPress sites are quoted separately, as they need specialist hosting), or you can take everything in-house with a full handover.

Question 7

What if my website gets really busy?

Accepted Answer

Hosting on Essential and Plus is included for typical small-business traffic, under a fair-use policy, and almost every local business is well inside it. If your site gets much busier, or needs heavy video or custom features, we'll talk first and move you to Growth: your hosting moves into your own account, billed directly by the host, so you never get a surprise bill from me.

Question 8

Do you only work with businesses in Fleet?

Accepted Answer

I'm a web designer and developer based in Fleet, and happily meet clients in person across Church Crookham, Hook, Hartley Wintney, Farnborough, North Camp, Aldershot and the Blackwater Valley. I also work remotely with businesses across Hampshire and the UK.

Question 9

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Payment comes in three stages: 25% to book your start date, 25% when you approve your designs, then the remaining 50% when you approve the finished site, before it goes live. Every payment comes off the package price, with no extra fees.

Question 10

What do I own?

Accepted Answer

Your domain name is registered in your name, and all your content, photos and text are yours. If you ever leave a Managed Website plan, I transfer your website's code to your own GitHub account free of charge, so another developer can take it on.

Question 11

What if my content isn't ready yet?

Accepted Answer

That's fine. Your timeline starts once I have your content, so nothing is rushed. Your design payment is due when you approve your designs, or 30 days after your start date, whichever comes first, so it's worth gathering your text and photos before your start date.

Question 12

Can I see my site before it goes live?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I share a private staging link where you can click through your site at any point before launch, and share it with others for feedback. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

Question 13

What do you need from me to get started?

Accepted Answer

Your text, or notes for me to write from (included in the Bespoke package), your logo and photos (or permission to source stock photos), and your brand colours if you have them. If you already have a domain or a Google Business Profile, I'll need access to those too. The timeline starts once I have your content.

Question 14

Do I need to buy a domain name?

Accepted Answer

If you don't have one yet, a .co.uk domain usually costs about £5 to £15 a year. It's registered in your name, so you always own it, and I'll help you set it up.
